Although you can find me on LinkedIn, I don’t spend a lot of time there, so here’s a snapshot of my work history. I have a diverse skillset, from pitching consumer computing stories to high-tech media to creating digital ad campaigns for wedding venues, from retail packaging development for accessories you’ll find in REI to white papers for business coaching.

Fresh out of college, I put my Journalism and Mass Communication degree to work in high-tech PR for Crucial Technology and Lexar Media (now Micron Consumer Products Group), the direct sales division of Micron Technology, a Fortune 500 semiconductor manufacturer. There I launched the company’s first PR department. It was an exciting time for tech: the dot-com world was just blooming, e-commerce was relatively new, and social media was barely a rumor. I spent six years at Crucial, responsible for introduction and adoption of high-tech products to consumers through traditional earned media.


1_E-Myth-Logo_2At at E-Myth Worldwide, a business coaching company founded by the best-selling author Michael Gerber, I dedicated four years to broadening my marketing skills in the B2B space. There I learned how to work on the long sales-funnel cultivation inherent in B2B communications and helped launch their online business courses and webinar series.


1_Buff_logoI ventured into the outdoor industry when I joined Buff, Inc., the U.S. division of the international outdoor headwear company Buff, SA. At Buff, things really gelled for me, and all the pieces of my marketing toolbox came together. As Director of Marketing I was responsible for all national marketing efforts for the distribution and direct-to-consumer channels. I managed people, budgets, product launches, projects, and campaigns.


1_MV_logoFor the last decade I’ve consulted for Mill Valley Refuse Service, the waste hauler for Southern Marin County. I develop their website and produce their communication materials, assisting them with critical community outreach and education.

I’ve worked for The Barlow, a 12.5-acre maker marketplace and retail campus, as a consultant and full-time Marketing Director in various stints over the past five years. In addition to social media and advertising management, I helped launch the campus with a street fair, re-vamped their event venue marketing, and developed brand identities for tenants.

 

I have consulted for other companies, like SocialElements and Guayaki Yerba Mate, but this is a pretty good snapshot of my work experience.
